At Â鶹ÊÓƵ School, we have a proud tradition of offering high-quality co-curricular programs that cater to the needs and interests of the individual.

These programs support our girl’s academic, social, emotional and physical wellbeing, as well as fostering supportive, collaborative and creative communities across the Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 continuum.

Our co-curricular programs offer girls the opportunity to learn new skills as well as enhance their existing abilities. We encourage them to discover new interests, work with others in a range of environments, acquire their leadership style and broaden their relationships beyond their immediate peers.

Our aim is to deliver innovative programs that empower our students and prepare them for their life beyond Â鶹ÊÓƵ School.

The School has tailored the co-curricular program around The Round Square Discovery Framework to align the philosophical IDEALS to the students’ application of the character attributes.

The 12 character attributes of the Discovery Framework are:

co-curricular-frameworks2-900x1000 Through the framework, girls are able to explore, demonstrate and use these attributes to critically reflect on their growth throughout their journey at Â鶹ÊÓƵ School. As a result, Â鶹ÊÓƵ School girls can articulate who they have become, based on the programs in which they have participated.

The vast array of activities offered through the co-curricular program for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 aims to appeal widely, so every girl can find something of interest.

The full offering of activities can be found on the , as well as an overview of what each activity entails, when and where it takes place, who coordinates the programs, and expectations around commitment, and cost (if applicable).

Mind Challenges – Tournament of Minds and da Vinci

Young women have the ability and the need to think laterally and critically in many different situations. The basic premise of Mind Challenges at Â鶹ÊÓƵ School is to allow interested girls to explore and develop these thinking skills in fun and creative ways.

Round Square

Round Square is a worldwide association of over 150 schools in 40 countries – of which Â鶹ÊÓƵ School is an international member – who share unique and ambitious goals.

The Round Square approach does not focus on what is taught but rather how learning takes place. It recognises that learning is most effective when it is practical, cross-cultural and collaborative, and when it is infused through a broad spectrum of inter, extra and co-curricular activities.

In order to prepare for adult life, young people must be encouraged to discover and embrace the similarities and differences between cultures and nationalities in ways that promote meaningful and lasting understanding, acceptance and respect. This is done through exploration and application of the IDEALS:

I nternationalism
D emocracy
E nvironmentalism
A dventure
L eadership
S ervice

The IDEALS are the pillars of Round Square and are a key focus within the Â鶹ÊÓƵ School ethos.

Programs initiated by Round Square help institutionally and culturally different, but like-minded, schools to work together through service projects, annual conferences, exchanges and outdoor expeditions.

Contribute at School Level

Once a week, a Round Square “Baraza” (a Swahili word meaning public/community meeting), is held, led by a leadership team formed of girls from the Senior Years. At these meetings the students discuss and work on projects that address one or more of the six Round Square pillars, including Round Square Week, a student-led celebration of international diversity run in partnership with the Student Representative Council.

Actively Participate in a Round Square Conference

Each year, Round Square schools send delegations of representatives to an international conference held at a member school. Discussions, related to the theme of the conference, examine topics of importance to the member schools and the world. Friendships are made through activities, expeditions and events organised by the host school. Visitors are introduced, not only to the host school, but also to its country, culture and environment.
